To make a purchase from an on-line shop requires a little more information from you the purchaser than when you go into a high street shop. For example:
- We need to know your name, so if you are already registered on our website just login.
- We need to know your billing address, this is the address to where the payment method you use is registered.
- We need to know where you would like your purchase to be delivered to so that we can 1) organise shipping and fulfil your order, 2) calculate the shipping cost, and 3) determine the relevant taxes that need to be charged (e.g. VAT).
Here is a step-by-step guide to making a purchase from our on-line eShop.
Task: I wish to purchase batteries
1) Click on the shortcut icon on the home page to straight to the batteries in the eShop (e.g., middle icon "Batteries"). See the graphic below.
2) Select the battery size you wish to order by clicking on the title or picture (e.g., 13A) By doing it this way it will give you the description on the product and in this case guidance on the quantity to purchase).
3) Input the quantity you require. Note that there might be a minimum order required. (e.g., for battery orders the minimum is usually 4 packs). Then click on the adjacent "Add to Cart" button to place in your basket.
4) A notice will be provided at the top of your screen (see graphic) that will advise you of what you have added to your basket. If you are finished shopping then click on the "Checkout" just above this notice. (see (4) on the graphic below).
5) This is Step 1 of the checkout process. If you have already registered with our website just login (5b) using your username and password. If you are new to our website then you will need to create an account, (5a). You will only have to create an account once. Subsequent visits to make purchases on our website just login (5b).
6) Step 2 is the billing details. If you are a returning customer then you can select the address that applies (6a). If none exists then you will need to select (6b) to enter the address details. Subsequent visits to make purchases on our website the address you have just entered will appear in the list (6a) and just select the appropriate one next time. Click "Continue".
7) Step 3 is about the delivery address to which you wish to have your purchase shipped to. If the same as your billing address, then, for example, select the address you just entered in Step 2 from the list (7a). Otherwise, select (7b) and enter the new address. Click "Continue".
8) Step 4 provides you with the delivery options to choose from. Generally An Post Registered post is used as our main delivery method to ensure that both the purchaser and seller can track the order. If you have an special requirements regarding the delivery, (e.g., a mobile phone you wish the courier to contact you on re delivery) please provide the information here (8a). Click "Continue".
9) Step 5 is about choosing the payment option. Currrently there is only one option - PayPal. We do not collect or store any payment details for your security and all payments are handled by PayPal. We may add other options at a later date. If there are any other comments you wish to add to your order please input them here (9a). Click "Continue".
10) Step 6, the final step is to check your order before making payment. If you need to make an amendment then go back to 4) and click on "Shopping Cart" and make the changes and update your basket. As you are already logged in all the information you have put in during the checkout will be retained. Just click down through the Steps as shown above. Once you are happy with the information then click "Continue".
11) You are now brought to the secure PayPal website to make your payment. If you are already an account holder with PayPal (11a) enter your email address and password. If you do not have an account with PayPal then click on (11b) and you will be able to enter your Credit / Debit Card details to make payment.
Once you have completed the transaction on PayPal you will be automatically returned to our website where a message will appear to confirm your transaction. We will contact you by email to update you on your order. Once it has shipped you will also receive an email from us notifying you of the tracking reference number for your order.
